Pierre Winter

Pierre is a photographer whose practice is rooted in an early introduction to the medium by his father, a member of a Photo-Club in Lausanne.

He learned traditional darkroom techniques at a young age, developing and enlarging his own prints, an experience that established a lasting foundation for his photographic approach.

He lived in Iceland for four years, where he documented everyday life, capturing subtle, unguarded moments that reflect the atmosphere of the 1970s.

Today, his work is focused on black-and-white street documentary photography. His images explore human presence in public space, with an emphasis on authenticity, observation and the quiet tension of fleeting moments.
