As a lot of you have loved the edition of our Photowalk about Flash photography at the Herbstmesse. We are doing it again for this 2025 edition.

We meet on Saturday 25.10.25 at 18h00 in front of „The Pub - Clarastrasse 56, 4058 Basel“.

Bring a digital or analog camera with a flash and Let’s have fun!!

Autumn brings crisp air and golden light. During this photo walk we will focus on capturing the play of long shadows, reflections, and contrasts in the old town streets.

We meet on Wednesday, 15.10.25 at 18h00 at Münsterplatz, Basel (in the cloister of the Münster at the market stall sculptures).

What gear to bring: A 28mm, 35mm or 50mm prime lens for classic street shots; optional polarizer filter for autumn light.

We will do an photowalk the 16th August, day of the "Beat on the street" in Basel.

For this occasion, Leica Akademie lent us various cameras to try out (Leica q3, Leica Q3 43mm, Leica M11, Leica M11 Monochrome, …).As it is a very special event we must limit the places to 20 participants.

Our 2nd Exhibition is getting closer.

To finalize the last details and help you in the process, we are organizing a Workshop on the 4th of July at Thomas Halfmann’s Studio - 5 Seewenweg, 4153 Reinach.

The goals of the workshop will be to:

• Help you select your images

• Help you find a common subject if you are exposing more then 1 photos.

• Give you some advises on your images (if some adjustements has to be done - colorwise, composition-wise, …)

• Help you choose the right size for your imagines

• Help you choose the right framing for your images

• Help you choose the right paper

• and more…

  30 photographers are exposing their imagines during this exhibition. To save some time during the Workshop every photographer has to do some
  
  HOME WORK: Do a pre-selection of your images max 10 and print them so we can discuss about it all together.

Lens Rule: One lens only – 35mm or wider (full-frame equivalent). The wilder, the wider!

This photo walk is all about seeing Basel from bold new angles. Armed with nothing but one wide-angle lens, we will explore how these focal lengths can completely shift your approach to street and urban photography. Whether you're working with a classic 35mm, a 24mm, or going full - hyper wide (10mm) or fisheye, this is your chance to challenge your composition skills, get closer, and embrace distortion as a creative tool.

We’ll walk through some of the most dynamic and architecturally diverse areas around Messeplatz, including:

- Modern structures and lines that bend and warp beautifully through a wide lens

- ⁠Crowded tram stops, tight corners, and alleyways – perfect for immersive storytelling

- ⁠Opportunities for in-your-face street shots, dramatic foregrounds, and layered scenes

This is also a great exercise in limiting gear to boost creativity: no switching lenses, no zooming in – only moving your feet, reacting fast, and embracing the scene.

We are blending into the Basler Fasnacht after the main events on Monday (Morgenstreich & Cortege) are already over, but the Cliquen are still strolling around the city.

We are capturing the vibrant energy of Basler Fasnacht and focus on dynamic motion, masks and expressions. We will explore the interplay of light and shadows or photographing the masks at and after he Cortege.

Meeting point will be in front of Manor in Klein Basel.
