Trees of the City
The tension between nature and the built environment is the theme of this photography series. Every day, we move through cities shaped by concrete, glass, steel, and stone, yet nature continually asserts its presence.
Photographed by Carrie Scott in Basel, Zürich, London and St. Gallen, these images do not focus on the trees themselves, but on their shadows as they fall across the built environment, reminding us that even in highly urbanized settings, nature remains active and enduring.
